We finally got through our first court date, YIPEEEE!!!

David and Jalena exhuasted after a day at the elephant orphanage and the Bomas of Kenya showing Mia and Grandma around Nairobi.

Lunch at the Bomas of Kenya, we waited a very long time for our meal and our kiddos loved getting to run around all the green space there.

David loves Mommy's guacamole

Daddy's first full day back included napping with David and Jalena, Jalena loves being almost totally under the covers, you can only see her braids poking out on the far left.

So sorry I have been so bad recently, pretty much the last month with updating the blog. Things have been super busy between Kim (Grandma) and Mia (Auntie) visiting, Josh coming back, getting through the courts and just trying to keep up with all that the kids have going on at school, oh and another friend coming to visit just for a night and she will be back again later this week. Plus, my mom, Pegs/Nana comes for a month starting late Thursday night.

Most importantly we got through the courts for our first hearing to appoint our guardian ad litem. The judge we were appointed looked through almost all the paperwork already and seemed to be quite happy with our file, so we are hoping that will make the second court date the final court date and we can then move forward to file paperwork with the US embassy after that. The judge was not very happy the first Friday we went in to see her due to the fact that David's birth father had not signed any of the paperwork. The adoption agency here worked very hard all weekend and so did our attorney and they pulled through and got all the paperwork to the judge by 9:30 am on Monday morning and were heard at 2:45 that afternoon and our first hearing was DONE ( ahhhh, huge sigh of relief)!!!! No need to fill you in on all the details, we are just happy it is over with and Josh was also excused from all future court hearings, which was a first for this judge to do. Josh will return for another visit to Nairobi, however now he can do it when it is best for him with his work schedule.

Kim and Mia had tons of fun with the kids and Jalena and David had a great time getting to know Grandma and Auntie Mia.

We had loads of fun having Daddy back for 2 full weeks and really enjoyed our first family vacation of four together! We headed to Watamu a small town right on the coast and enjoyed some warm weather, the pool and lots of sun.

I am not going to write much, I just have lots of pics to upload, so I hope you all enjoy.

Hope all is well with everyone and we look forward to hearing from all of you.

Peace and love,
Katie, Josh, Jalena and David
