Madaraka Day (Independence Day)!

Karen, the founder and director of LOVE SHACK, Jalena, Me, and David at Ethan's Birthday Party

One of the games we played was pass the wrapped present that had many layers and each time the music stopped the child holding the present unwrapped one layer and then got a candy and something to do, Jalena had to walk in big shoes, it was quite cute. She wanted then to keep them on for the rest of the party!

Karen had brought many wigs to the party and David and his love of hats ran right for the wig and could not get enough of being the clown of the party!

Singing Happy Birthday to Ethan, with his mom, Karen and sister Millie. The rest of the guests shielding the wind with plates from blowing out the candles.
Another friend of Karen's, Kate with her little one on her back leading the kids in ring-around-the-rosey.

Millie, another little girl, and David eyeing the cake figuring out a way on how to get their hands on it before anyone else, I think David might win!!!

Karen even brought a parachute, one of the many random things Karen has in her closet!

We spent Madaraka Day at Ethan's 2nd birthday party. Ethan is the son of Karen who runs Love Shack where I volunteer and we had a great time at a very creative Birthday Party. Karen came up with a million games for the kids and at the end of the party Jalena told me that she wished I knew as many games as Mama Millie (Karen's other child is Millie and in Kenya you call the mom, Mama and then the name of their oldest child, so that is why I sign off sometimes as Mama Jalena). Hope you enjoy the pics.....
