Last weekend we went to Amani ya Juu, which is primarily a refuge for women fleeing African war zones. They've created a sewing project, where the women sew household items which are sold to fund the home. They've also got a playground and great cafe. Mostly we went because the playground offers a great opportunity to tire the kids out. Jalena and David started out playing the sand box (above), but quickly migrated to bigger things.

Once Jalena got comfortable on the rope bridge, it was off to the races for the rest of day.

Future holiday card? Riding the warthog and hippo.

While playing that day, David for the first time really started wanting to do whatever his sister did. Their time in the tunnel was sort of a breakthrough in making them a lot closer.

David and Jalena played a game with Dad where Dad back and forth to the ends of the tunnel and roared like a lion. David learned a new sentence which he began shouting much more loudly than Jalena: "Go away, Daddy!" So far he uses it when the lion comes to eat him and the ticklemonster comes, but thankfully not when he actually wants Daddy to go away.
